Nathaniel Joseph Ruess, born to Larry Ruess and Bess Zinger, in Lowa City on February 26, 1982; grew up to be popularly known as Nate Ruess. He was raised in the Glendale, Arizona along with his elder sister Elizabeth. He went to the Deer Valley High School, Arizona and acquired graduation in the year 2000. For his musical ventures, Ruess was inspired by his uncle John who then performed in the Broadway.
After graduation Nate decided to pursue music on a serious note, building a career in that field. In order to support himself and his ambitions financially, Nate did a job in a law firm while learning music. Soon, he was prepared to enter the showbiz world and he did so by forming a band with his best friend Sam Means at the age of 19.
The band named ‘The Format,’ went on to become a craze amongst the masses. The first local album of the band was released in the year 2002, which caught the eye of Electra Records and the ‘Format’ was signed by them only to release their first studio album ‘Interventions + Lullabies ’ in the year 2003. The second album of The Format, ’Dog Problems’ was released in the year 2006 under their indigenous label, ‘The Vanity Label’. By this time the band was able to garner enough fan-space so as to settle into the industry. However, the year 2008 brought the split of the band and Ruess went on to form a new band, ‘Fun’ with Jack Antonoff and Andrew Dost.
‘Fun,’ released its first studio album in the year 2009, which developed a positive market for the band to proceed further. Its second album, ‘Some Nights,’ released in 2012 even soared higher than the first one in the markets, only to increase their popularity and fan base. The last venture of ‘Fun’ was a song ‘Harsh Lights’ in the year 2014, after which Ruess went on a as a solo performer. His debut album is, ‘The Grand Romantic’ and he has been releasing its songs starting from April 6, 2015 finally releasing the album on June 16, 2015. Nate has performed with renowned artists Pink, Eminem besides others.
The ‘Fun’ album, ‘Some Nights’ brought two Grammys for the band, one for the song ‘We are young’ and other under the category of Best New Artist. His duet with Pink, ‘Just give me a reason’ is also award winning.
Moving to his personal life, it could be said the 33 year old artist is not married but is constantly rumoured to be in relationships. Back in the time of ‘Fun’ his girlfriend was Rachel Antonoff, sister of his band mate Jack Antonoff. Another time, during his Australia tour, he was found to be in a relationship with Ellie Goulding, an actor, multi-instrumentalist and song writer.
Nate has wide fans base, mostly female and he never disappoints them with his presence over social networking sites. His career in music has been fruitful both in terms of fame and fortune, with which he has been able to make his net worth around 10 million US Dollars.
