Michael Bennett Jr. was born on November 13, 1985 in Avondale, Louisiana. He has a younger brother Martellus Bennett, who is a football player too, and is a team member of the New England Patriots. He studied at the Alief Taylor High School in Houston, Texas. At that time he started to play football and baseball. He continued to play football when he enrolled in the Texas A&M University and joined the Texas A&M team.
He became a novice in the college team in the 2005, and during the year makes 27 tackles, including 3.5 quarterback sacks, while seeing action in all eleven games. The next year he became a top tackler among the defenders that did not start a game. He was chosen to the team at defensive end in the 2007. In the 2008 he appeared in the 11 games made 42 tackles with 12.5 for losses and 2.5 sacks. During his time for the Texas A&M team he also played along with his young brother Martellus Bennett. He was a very talented player, especially in the game against UGA team.
After College he signed a contract with Seattle Seahawks being an undrafted free agent in the 2009. He was chosen due to his incredible performance in college. At first he worked with coaches during training camp, and later he moved to the inside as a team pass-rushing tackle. He showed a good result in the pre-season, and in the end compiled 9 tackles, 2 sacks, 5 QB hurries, as well as a tipped pass and a fumble recovery.
His first steps in the big sport were pretty short and in the same year he was waived from the team. On October 12 he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers team from Florida. He became a key part of the defense filling in for the position of Gerald McCoy, who got an injury. He got is breakthrough time in the 2012 season with 41 tackles, 9 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.
After four years in Florida he joined the Seattle Seahawks team again. He signed a one year deal on March 14, 2013 for worth of $4.8 million dollars. He scored his first NFL touchdown during the game against the New Orleans Saints in the end of the 2013. Since that time he signed a contract twice and now is a member of a team till 2020. He has incredible career stats and was awarded with Pro Bowl selection in both 2015, 2016. In the 2015 he reached PFWA All-NFC and Pro Bowl Defensive MVP. He also was honored by NFC Champion title in the 2013 and 2014.
Michael is a married man. His wife, Pele Bennett married him in 2012. The couple was dating more then eight years in line. They tied their married knot in in Hawaii, and Pele was called a local girl by Hawaii newspapers. She is a native of Houston. He has a salary of 7.1 million dollars.
