Laurie Stokes is an journalist born on September 16, 1962. She has completed her education at Ohio state University and Howard University. She is gifted with two daughters.
She was a sole anchor of the very famous episodes Eyewitness News This Morning andl Eyewitness News at Noon. She groomed herself professionally and learned a lot in her life which makes her life successful and makes her popular in the state. With all her efforts she made the WAB's morning newscast to number 1 in the state.
She is always in the record as she is the first African American has got an opportunity on the cable news network and her work been recognized a lot over the viewers. She has made a remarkable record by being co-anchor of Good day New York by joining the hands with Rosanna Scotto. She worked as crime and street reporter for WBFF-TV as well which makes her life more adventorous She reached as a full anchor in WJLA TV's & worked through the year 1992-1996
For a brief time in 2003, Stokes was removed from the noon newscast and replaced with Sade Baderinwa. Stokes resumed anchoring the noon newscast when Roz Abrams left the station and was replaced by Baderinwa . Stokes was the sole anchor of Eywitness news this morning and noon in March13,2007. Many joined here till March & until july when Ken Rosato permenently replaced Steve Bartelstein.
In Fall 2010, the newscast expanded to begin from morning 4:30am and in fall 2014, the noon news expanded a full hour which seemed long days for stokes and Rosato. They were kept in morning news from June 2015 permenently. Stokes left Eyewitness news in Aug 2017. She joined In Fox-5 WNYW and started her first day hosting Good Day New York with Rosanna Scotto replacing Greg Kelly.
